Alcohol use disorder is severely undertreated

In a study out of Washington University School of Medicine, researchers determined that fewer than 1 out of 10 patients with alcohol use disorder receive appropriate treatment. Of the patients in the study determined to have alcohol use disorder, only 12% were advised to cut back on their drinking, and 5% were offered information about treatment.
